Text: Hebrews 11:17-19
Title: The Trial of Faith
Introduction: God often tests faith with the purpose of revealing what is true faith and what is false faith in our lives. By the way, God already knows! So the trial or testing of our faith is never for His benefit—it is for ours! And the best way to reveal what is inside of someone is to heat up the environment around them.
Notice with me the characteristics of a faith tried at the hand of our loving Heavenly Father.
I. The Particulars of a Faith on Trial—vs. 17
A. Challenged with the sacred
B. Challenged to sacrifice
C. Challenged to submit
II. The Proficiency of a Faith on Trial—vs. 19
A. A surety of principles
B. A stability of power
C. A shift of perspective
III. The Purpose of a Faith on Trial
A. To secure a figure—vs. 19
B. To secure a future
Conclusion: Faith is not like gasoline in an engine. An engine’s fuel is depleted and needs to be filled up again. Faith is more like a muscle. Muscles are either weak or strong. I don’t know a better way to make a muscle stronger than to exercise it.
God exercises faith with trials. Will you pass the testing of your faith?
Remember:

- The purpose of a faith on trial
